A few months ago, on a bit of a whim, I submitted a little piece of creative/experiential writing I did for publication in the Belle Reve Literary Journal. After over 70 science publications that involved coauthors, peer-reviewers as well as numerous rejections, re-writes and revisions, I was pleasantly surprised when two days later I got a simple email from the editor saying they wanted to publish it in their summer issue!
